Jay Small serves as the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Local Media Association since April 2019, overseeing operations and development programs for a diverse member base in the local media industry. Previous roles include Chief Operating Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, with notable contributions such as leading initiatives funded by the Google News Initiative and the Knight Foundation to enhance sustainability in media. Small has extensive experience as an independent consultant and has held significant leadership positions at Cordillera Communications and The E.W. Scripps Company, driving revenue growth and digital transformation. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Kennesaw State University and a B.S. in Journalism and Political Science from Southern Illinois University.
