Matthew Young has extensive experience in the life sciences and finance sectors. Matthew currently serves as the Managing Director at Longitude Capital since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at GRAIL, Inc. as the COO and CFO from 2019 to 2021. Matthew also held various roles at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, including EVP & CFO from 2013 to 2019 and SVP Corporate Development from 2013 to 2014. Before that, they were the Managing Director, Head of Life Sciences at Barclays Capital from 2009 to 2013, and at Lehman Brothers from 2003 to 2007. Matthew began their career at Merrill Lynch as a Director from 1994 to 2003 and at BT Securities as an Associate from 1992 to 1994.
Matthew Young completed their undergraduate education at The Wharton School from 1987 to 1991, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Marketing, and Economics. Matthew later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution, specializing in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management, from 1990 to 1992.
