Matthew Barsness

Matthew has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and an M.A. in counseling psychology from Saint Mary’s University. Matt is licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Minnesota.

As a firm believer that everyone can benefit from therapy, Matt feels that having the opportunity to openly talk about your problems in a safe place with a caring and understanding person can be incredibly healing. His goal as a therapist is to help you build a better relationship with yourself and accept your own emotions as you experience them. Matt values trust and honesty in hopes of making therapy a positive and healing experience.

Everyone’s story is unique to them, and they face different hurdles. As a practitioner, Matt is dedicated to using an individualized approach to counseling, learning skills that are personally tailored to fit your lifestyle and individual needs. Matt works with couples, adults, adolescents, and children struggling with depression, anxiety, life stressors, and has a special interest in eating disorders and LGBTQIA+-related counseling.
