Eric Michalak is a research scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory since January 2018, previously serving as a post-bach student. Michalak has extensive experience in software engineering as a senior principal software engineer at Secureworks from July 2022 to August 2023. Prior to this, Michalak worked as a system administrator and research assistant at Missouri University of Science and Technology, collaborating in the Natural Computation Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Tauritz. Additional experience includes internships at Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory, along with earlier roles as a telecommunications technician. Eric Michalak earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology, having also attended the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.

LANL is a United States Department of Energy national laboratory, managed and operated by Los Alamos National Security (LANS), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The laboratory is one of the largest science and technology institutions in the world. It conducts multidisciplinary research in fields such as national security, space exploration, renewable energy,[2] medicine, nanotechnology, and supercomputing.
