Ryan West is the Director of Player Personnel for the Los Angeles Lakers. The older of two sons of former Lakers general manager Jerry West, Ryan is mostly involved with scouting for the Lakers. Having started his NBA career in Memphis when his father was the GM for the Grizzlies, West has been with the Lakers since 2009 and now works closely with Jesse Buss.

The team originated in as the Minneapolis Lakers, moved to Los Angeles prior to the 1960 season. In their time in Los Angeles, the Lakers have called the Sports Arena, The Great Western Forum and STAPLES Center home.
