John Oberholtzer has over 20 years of experience in database engineering, system administration, and technology mentoring. John has worked with various companies and organizations, including LOUD Audio, LLC, Teleion Consulting/Microsoft, Iraq Ministry of Defense, Globys, Torres, Microsoft, Project & Contracting Office - Baghdad, Seattle Opera, Civil Air Patrol, and NimbleTechnologies.
At LOUD Audio, John served as a System/Database Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and implementing web assets for LOUD technologies and managing associated hardware and software assets.
During their time at Teleion Consulting/Microsoft, John worked as a Database System Engineer, focusing on SharePoint server farm design and implementation, as well as SharePoint farm and server administration.
John also worked as a Technology Mentor at the Iraq Ministry of Defense, training and mentoring MOD personnel in Oracle and system administration. John demonstrated their technical knowledge and cultural understanding to effectively train Iraqi individuals.
At Globys, John was an Oracle DBA, leading the installation and implementation of the Oracle database and developing the Offer Optimization database and application. John successfully deployed the system with large telecommunications billing data.
During their tenure at Torres, John worked as a System Engineer/Oracle DBA, collaborating with MOD and MNSTC-I to meet contractual requirements for implementing an Oracle payroll system for over 500,000 personnel. John worked with various technologies such as Oracle E-Business Suite, MySQL, and biometrics.
At Microsoft, John served as a System Engineer, overseeing the migration of DeepMatrix IIS log analyzer to the Microsoft data center. John collaborated with internal and external groups to configure and integrate the DeepMatrix system.
John's experience also includes working as a DBA System Engineer at the Project & Contracting Office - Baghdad, where they designed and implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to support a $14 billion reconstruction project.
John worked as a Database Engineer at the Seattle Opera, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Tessitura performing arts software, database server administration, data modeling, and report development.
John also has a background in the Civil Air Patrol, where they served as a 2nd Lt. and at NimbleTechnologies, where they worked as a DBA, setting up the Nimble test and development lab and implementing various database engines.
Throughout their career, John has acquired expertise in technologies such as Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Perl, XML, and various operating systems like Linux and Windows.
John Oberholtzer has a strong educational background in the field of information technology and cloud computing. John obtained a Certificate in Cloud Computing from Cloud Genius in 2020. Prior to that, they attended the University of Washington from 2011 to 2012, where they pursued a degree in Cloud Computing. Furthermore, they also earned a Certificate in Information Technology from the University of Washington from 1994 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, John has obtained additional certifications, such as Python Core and Advanced from Udemy in November 2019, and FCC General license from FCC in February 2012.
