Kate Brewer has had a long career in various human resources and management roles. Kate first worked at Co-op, where they served as a Store Manager from April 2003 to January 2015. After that, they transitioned into Employee Relations, working as an Employee Relations Consultant from January 2015 to November 2018, and then as an Employee Relations Investigator from November 2018 to October 2019.
In October 2019, Kate joined Loungers plc, where they held multiple positions. Initially, they were a People Manager until February 2023. Kate then became a People Care Manager, a role they held until the same date. Currently, Kate is the Head of People at Loungers plc, a position they have held since January 2023.

Loungers is led by CEO Nick Collins, and backed by Lion Capital Private Equity, and, as of August 2023, has over 230 sites. The Loungers business comprises three distinct but complementary brands: Lounge café-bar, Cosy Club bar and dining concept, and Brightside roadside dining. In the 52-week period ending 16 April 2023, Loungers' reported 2022/23 revenue of £283.5 million and adjusted EBITDA of £47.3 million. The group also opened 29 new sites in this period. Established in 2002, Loungers is an award-winning, all-day neighbourhood café-bar and dining business. Co-founded by three friends – Alex Reilley (Chairman), Jake Bishop (Commercial Director) and David Reid, wanting to create a neighbourhood café-bar they would want to go to, it has grown rapidly since its inception.
