James Thomas

James Thomas, M.S.Ed., currently serves as the Director of the Center for Diversity & Inclusion at Loyola University Chicago, where responsibilities include supervising multiple teams dedicated to the well-being and success of marginalized students, overseeing mentorship initiatives, and implementing curriculum for male identified and LGBTQIA+ students. With extensive experience in higher education and community engagement, Thomas has also held roles such as Operations Manager at Lighthouse Church of Chicago and Black Queer Caucus Leader at Lighthouse Foundation of Chicagoland. Previous positions include Coordinator of Campus Activities at DePaul University and Residence Hall Director at the Illinois Institute of Technology, all contributing to a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and student retention. Thomas holds a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
