Lead Rendering Engineer - Materials And Shading at Lucasfilm

Jonathan Stone has extensive experience in software engineering and rendering, currently serving as the Lead Rendering Engineer for Materials and Shading at Lucasfilm Advanced Development Group since June 2010. Jonathan has also held the position of Senior Software Engineer and R&D Engineer within the same organization. Since June 2021, Jonathan has contributed to the Academy Software Foundation as a member of the Technical Advisory Council and chairs the MaterialX Technical Steering Committee. Prior to these roles, Jonathan was a Senior Programmer at Double Fine Productions from April 2001 to June 2010, and worked as a Programmer at Blizzard Entertainment from January 1999 to April 2001. Jonathan earned a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1987 and 1991.
