Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone is a Roman property developer and President of Caltagirone SpA, a company responsible for large infrastructure projects globally.
In the late 1990s, Caltagirone turned his sights on new media, purchasing newspapers and ultimately incorporating all editorial concerns under the Caltagirone Editore name, the country’s fifth largest publishing company.
Caltagirone sits on the Board of Directors for both Confindustria and the Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers. He also acted as an advisor to the Auditorium Parco della Musica until 2015.
In 2006, he was named a Cavaliere del Lavoro and in 2007, was nominated as advisor to Assicurazioni Generali SpA, where he became Vice President in 2010.

LUISS - Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli – is an independent university that was created out of a pre-existing Roman institution, Pro Deo, between 1974 and 1978. LUISS offers an innovative educational approach at its four Departments: Economics and Finance, Business and Management, Law, and Political Science. Its goal is not simply to convey knowledge but to “instill flexibility” in young people, giving them a sense of mastery over their future.
