Essi Arola

Essi Arola's work experience includes roles in various companies such as LUMENE Oy, KONE Corporation, Nokia, and UPM Raflatac. In LUMENE Oy, they held positions such as Head of R&D, Packaging Development Manager, Sourcing and Development Manager, and R&D Manager, focusing on packaging development, sustainability, and outsourcing. At KONE Corporation, they worked as a Design Engineer, bringing material knowledge to design projects. In Nokia, they were a Design Engineer focusing on materials for mobile phone covers. At UPM Raflatac, they worked as a Master's thesis worker, optimizing pressure-sensitive adhesives.

Essi Arola completed their high school education at Valkeakosken lukio from 1996 to 1999. Essi then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences from 2007 to 2009. Following that, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Material Engineering from Tampere University of Technology from 2000 to 2006. Essi also participated in an ERASMUS exchange year at Grenoble INP - UGA in 2003-2004, focusing on paper converting and printing technology. Most recently, they engaged in open university studies in Responsible Business and Sustainability at Tampere University in 2021-2022.
