Werner Wiechmann

Werner Wiechmann has extensive experience in product engineering and management within the laser technology sector. Currently serving as Director of Product Engineering at Lumentum since September 2015, Werner oversees the Commercial Lasers Business Unit following its spin-off from JDSU. Prior roles at JDSU included Director of Product Engineering, Director of Marketing, Marketing Manager, and Product Line Manager, focusing on solid-state laser products and business development. Earlier experience includes positions as Product Line Manager and R&D Project Manager at Lightwave Electronics, where Werner expanded the solid-state laser business and developed new product platforms, as well as research work at Sony Electronics in Tokyo. Werner holds a degree from the University of Münster, completed in 1990.
