Juan Alonso has worked in various roles since 1997. Juan began their career as an Assistant Professor at Stanford University, then moved up to Associate Professor and Professor. In 2006, they took a position as Director of the Fundamental Aeronautics Program Office at NASA. Most recently, in 2019, they became the CTO and Co-Founder of Luminary Cloud, a company that is reimagining high-performance computing.
Juan Alonso began their educational journey in 1988 when they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained a B.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics. In 1991, they continued their studies at Princeton University and obtained an M.A. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. Juan then returned to Princeton University in 1993 and earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering in 1997.
