Giulio Giorgione, PhD, currently serves as a Project Management Officer and Researcher Project Oriented at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) since March 2022, focusing on national and European research projects by planning resources, monitoring progress, and guiding researchers. Previously, Giulio contributed as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Doctoral Researcher at the University of Luxembourg, where projects included the development of sustainable mobility plans and multi-modal transport systems. Experience also includes a role at Oply in Development and Operation, project support for multimodal travel assistants at the University of Luxembourg, and a study of traffic flows at I.T. Ingegneria dei Trasporti S.r.l. Giulio holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from the University of Luxembourg and advanced degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma and Università degli studi Roma TRE, along with international study experience at Universidad de Cantabria.

LISER is a Luxembourgish public research institute under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Its research focus lies in the field of social and economic policy including the spatial dimension. This comprises topics like poverty, inequality, education, social inclusion, employment, unemployment, health, housing, mobility, and regional convergence. The aim is to improve the understanding of causal relationships and to provide sound evidence for the impact of institutional settings and policy options on outcomes. Based on empirical evidence, the Institute wants to provide well-grounded and clear-cut answers to policy relevant questions. The results are published in form of research reports, monographs and scientific articles.
