Michael Burke joined Groupe Arnault with responsibility for investments in the United States before becoming CEO of Christian Dior USA from 1986 to 1992, and then of Louis Vuitton North America from 1992 to 1997.
In 1997 Michael Burke became Worldwide Managing Director of Christian Dior Couture, and then Chairman and CEO of Fendi in 2003.
In 2012 he was appointed CEO of Bulgari and then Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. Since January 2021, he has also been Chairman of Tiffany Board of Directors.
Since February 2023, Michael Burke has been Strategic Advisor to the President.
He is a member of the LVMH Executive Committee.
In 2016, Michael Burke was elected a member of the Management Board of the Fédération Française de la Couture.
