Erik Askin is an accomplished Industrial Design Lead for Bikes & Scooters at Lyft since November 2019, with extensive experience in industrial design spanning over a decade. Prior to Lyft, Askin served at NewDealDesign from June 2012 to November 2019, holding various positions including Associate Design Director and Senior Industrial Designer, contributing to award-winning projects for diverse clients. Previous roles include Industrial Designer at Keytech Inc., focusing on high-tech medical and industrial hardware, and multiple internships at notable firms such as NASA’s Habitability Design Center and Kaiju Studios, where contributions involved concept development, prototyping, and market research. Askin holds a BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, earned in 2010.
