Nils Hempler

Nils Hempler has extensive experience in the photonics and quantum technology industry. Nils is currently working at M Squared Lasers as the General Manager for Quantum Research & Systems, a position they have held since July 2021. Nils also served as the Head of Innovation at M Squared, where they founded M Squared Innovation, enabling collaborations with the scientific community and successfully commercializing technology at the forefront of scientific discovery. Nils joined M Squared in November 2013 and held various roles including Business Development Manager and Laser Engineer.

Prior to M Squared, Nils worked at the Institute of Photonics, University of Strathclyde as a Researcher from October 2006 to February 2010. Nils also gained experience as a Laser Engineer Intern at Coherent Scotland Ltd from October 2005 to June 2006.

Nils Hempler completed their education with a Diploma in Mechantronics from Fachhochschule Kiel, which they obtained from 2002 to 2006. Subsequently, they pursued further studies and received a PhD in Physics from the University of Strathclyde, where they attended from 2006 to 2010.
