Rick van Leeuwen

Head Technician at Maastricht University

Rick van Leeuwen has a strong background in scientific research and assay development. Rick started their career in 1985 as a Technician at TNO IVEG and later at Erasmus MC/Inwendige Geneeskunde. In 1990, they became a Head Technician at TNO Quality of Life, where they stayed until 2002. At TNO, they developed expertise in various molecular biology techniques and served as a coach and supervisor for pHd students. Rick then joined Maastricht University as a Head Technician, where their work focused on RNA sequencing, cardiomyocyte isolation, and teaching Genetics & Molecular Biology. In 2008, they moved to ACS Biomarker as an Assay Development Director, leading the development of new assays.

Rick van Leeuwen attended the Hogere Laboratorium school/Delft, where they studied Biochemistry. No specific start or end dates were provided for this education.
