John Thimsen

John Thimsen is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience leading engineering teams and driving product innovation. As the current Chief Technology Officer at Mason and a Board Member at Clozd, John previously held significant roles at Qualtrics, where responsibilities included serving as the Chief Technology Officer and Advisor to the CEO, overseeing a global engineering team of over 1500 professionals. Prior to Qualtrics, John was a Director of Engineering at Amazon.com, playing a pivotal role in launching the Amazon Echo and the Alexa software service. John’s career also includes leadership positions at Openwave Systems, Microsoft, Trimble Navigation, and Active Voice Corporation, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington.
