In 2003 Mr. Underwood joined the company when Magellan Aerospace purchased the UK business. Prior to joining Magellan, Mr. Underwood held a number of senior aerospace industry positions with GKN Aerospace in the UK and the USA.
For the past 10 years, Mr. Underwood led Magellan’s UK operation and oversaw the corporation’s manufacturing partnership in India. Most recently holding the title, Vice President, European Operations, he was responsible for the strategic and operational direction across six operational divisions.
Phillip Underwood was appointed President of Magellan Aerospace Corporation on May 13, 2014 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2015.
Mr. Underwood holds a Bachelor of Science degree.

The Company engineers and manufactures aeroengine and aerostructure components for aerospace markets, including products for defense and space markets, and complementary specialty products. Its segments include Aerospace and Power Generation Project. The Aerospace segment includes the design, development, manufacture, repair and overhaul, and sale of systems and components for defense and commercial aviation. The Power Generation Project segment includes the supply of gas turbine power generation units. Within the Aerospace segment, the Company's product groupings include aerostructures and aeroengines. It manufactures complex cast, fabricated and machined gas turbine engine components, both static and rotating, and integrated nacelle components, flow paths and engine exhaust systems for various aeroengine manufacturers.
