Josephine first joined MAG as Business Development Officer in 2010 and was appointed Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships at the end of 2022. Before her appointment, Jo worked in a range of policy and partnerships roles, and also as Country Director in both Myanmar and Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has specialised in the development of MAG’s armed violence reduction work at both policy and programme level. Jo has previously worked in private sector finance and local government, and is a Trustee of Manchester-based human rights organisation the Omega Research Foundation.

MAG's vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict. We have worked in more than 40 countries since 1989, to save lives and build futures by 1) Reclaiming land contaminated with the remnants of conflict, such as landmines, cluster munitions, bombs, shells and mortars 2) Finding ways to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians 3) Creating safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the ICBL (International Campaign to Ban Landmines), for its work to ban landmines.
