Nesta holds an M.A. (University of Michigan) and extensive work experience in international development and humanitarian sectors. In Sub Saharan Africa, Nesta worked in the Ministry of Education and US Peace Corps in Zimbabwe. She was also Country Director with Voluntary Service Overseas and Regional Director with HelpAge International. A former Expert Advisor on Ageing to the U.N. Economic Commission for Africa, Nesta is currently a resource person for the INIA Satellite Centre on Ageing for Sub Saharan Africa. Her INGO board experience includes World Animal Protection and Conciliation Resources.

MAG brings peace and safety to those who have lived in fear for far too long. Help us find every unexploded landmine and bomb before a child does. MAG's vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict. We have worked in more than 40 countries since 1989, to save lives and build futures by 1) Reclaiming land contaminated with the remnants of conflict, such as landmines, cluster munitions, bombs, shells and mortars 2) Finding ways to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians 3) Creating safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the ICBL (International Campaign to Ban Landmines), for its work to ban landmines.
