Position Overview

As a Quantitative Analyst summer intern, you will be immersed in financial market research to guide trading decisions and analyze risk. You will work closely with researchers and portfolio managers to solve mathematical, empirical, and coding problems. Potential projects include modeling complex credit instruments, portfolio optimization, investigating novel data sources, testing quantitative signals, enhancing systems for back testing and trading, and deploying risk models.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a postgraduate degree in applied mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance, physics, or other technical field
  • Excellent mathematical, modeling and problem solving skills
  • Solid programming ability in Python, Matlab, R or similar
  • Skills in areas such as optimization, linear algebra, statistical analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, machine learning and econometrics
  • Ability to contribute in a research environment and take ownership of assigned projects
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, rigor, creativity and drive
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets
  • Ability to think independently and creatively approach data analysis and communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Understanding of derivatives and familiarity with fixed income is a plus
  • Prior full time work experience in the finance industry is preferred

The hourly compensation range for this position is $30-40 USD/hour.
