Bob Makortoff has over 30 years of work experience in the aerospace industry. Bob started their career in 1988 at Bombardier Aerospace where they served as a Regional Manager, managing a team of Field Service Representatives and applying operational knowledge to new aircraft design. Bob also investigated and integrated design improvements in the field. From 2002 to 2014, Bob worked at Abu Dhabi Aviation as a Senior Engineer and Instructor, where they managed rotary and fixed-wing maintenance operations, designed avionic modifications, and cultivated a simulator training business. From 2017 to 2020, they worked at Mitsubisi Aircraft Corporation America as an Aerospace Engineer, creating and performing electrical system design and certification tests, defining engineering processes and policies, and serving as a Project Engineer for test vehicle modification design. Currently, Bob is employed at magniX as an Aircraft Applications Engineer, with a focus on aircraft electric propulsion systems.
Bob Makortoff attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1979 to 1981, where they obtained a Diploma in Avionics Technology.

magniX has developed a family of flight proven electric propulsion units (EPUs) and energy storage systems (ESS) for commercial aviation. ESS options include high density batteries and hydrogen fuel cells.magniX powered the all-electric flight of a modified Robinson R44 helicopter.
