In July 2023, Magotteaux, a global leader in the design and manufacture of screening media, acquired a majority stake in GMSA, now known as Magotteaux Grinding Media South Africa. This development combines local expertise with global standards for our customers. For over a century, Magotteaux has been a leader in providing mining-related solutions, establishing a strong foothold in the South African market since 1984. GMSA has a history of over 70 years in grinding media production and is a top supplier of grinding balls to the local mining industry.
 
We will continue to provide world-class grinding media to leaders in the platinum, gold, ferrochrome, base metals, power generation, and cement industries by leveraging each company’s strengths.
 
Magotteaux Grinding Media South Africa will utilise Magotteaux’s globally recognised brand and expertise, along with GMSA’s 200,000-tonne production capacity and continuous product innovation, to deliver effective grinding materials.
