Investment Associate at Main Sequence Ventures

Jason Whitfield is an accomplished professional in the field of synthetic biology and investment, currently serving as an Investment Associate at Main Sequence since October 2023, focusing on deep tech companies in the APAC region. With experience as a Non Executive Director and Co-founder of the Australasian SynBio Challenge, and having held the role of Program Manager for SynBio 10x at UNSW Founders, Jason has demonstrated leadership in fostering innovation and collaboration in the synthetic biology community. Prior to these roles, Jason was a CSIRO Synthetic Biology FSP Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Queensland, where research centered on developing novel biosensor platforms. Jason's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from The Australian National University and the University of Canterbury, respectively.
