Kevyn Paternina is a professional with extensive experience in the social sector, currently serving as a Technology Validation and Validation Specialist at MAKAIA since March 2022, where responsibilities include validating the registration and documentation of organizations for a technology program in Colombia and Latin America, as well as leading meetings and webinars on the significance of technology and innovation in non-profit organizations. Prior to this role, Kevyn worked at Mercy Corps from September 2019 to January 2022 as an Information and Accountability Advisor, focusing on managing and reporting feedback and complaints to enhance program impact. Earlier experience includes serving as an In-Person Advisor at the Unidad para las Víctimas from September 2015 to December 2018, where tasks involved assisting victims of armed conflict in various municipalities in Antioquia, verifying indemnities, and ensuring humanitarian assistance. Kevyn holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Santo Tomás, obtained in December 2014.

MAKAIA es una organización sin ánimo de lucro que potencia capacidades para el desarrollo social desde la cooperación, la tecnología y la innovación. MAKAIA significa "construir" o "hacer", en Miskito (lengua indígena de Honduras). Su nombre representa el objetivo de MAKAIA: construir alianzas y relaciones orientadas al desarrollo social y económico Creada el 3 de junio de 2006, fruto de la decisión de emprender de sus tres fundadores Catalina Escobar, Camilo Mondragón y María Claudia Camacho. Tres colombianos que después de estudiar y trabajar en el exterior decidieron fundar una organización con el ánimo de aportar al desarrollo del país, aprovechando su conocimiento, experiencia y redes de contactos; en la actualidad MAKAIA es reconocida a nivel nacional e internacional, por su experiencia en el fortalecimiento institucional y destacados programas y proyectos enfocados en el desarrollo del sector social. Misión: Potenciamos capacidades para el desarrollo social desde la cooperación, la tecnología y la innovación. MAKAIA means "to build" or "to do", in Miskito (indigenous language from Honduras). Its name represents the objective of MAKAIA: to build partnerships and relations oriented to social and economic development. MAKAIA was born from the vision of its three founders Catalina Escobar, Camilo Mondragón and Maria Claudia Camacho on 3 June 2006. Three Colombians who, after studying and working abroad, decided to establish an organization with the aim of contributing to the development of the country, by taking advantage of their knowledge, experience and networks. Nowadays, MAKAIA is recognized nationally and internationally for its experience of institutional strengthening and outstanding programs and projects focused on the development of the social sector. Vision: Every person and organization has the information and knowledge to transform themselves and their communities.
