Allan John Were

Allan John Were currently serves as the Vector-borne Diseases Lead (Senior Principal Technical Advisor) at Management Sciences for Health, spearheading strategies and interventions for vector-borne diseases since November 2022. Prior to this role, Allan held various notable positions at Abt Associates Inc., including Principal Associate/Director of Vector Control for the PMI VectorLink Project, where significant accomplishments included leading initiatives across 25 countries and receiving the Clark Abt Prize for Outstanding Social Impact in June 2021. Additional experience encompasses roles such as Principal Associate/Director of Operations for the PMI Africa IRS Project, Deputy Chief of Party for the Uganda IRS Project, Country Manager for the USAID/NetMark Africa Regional Malaria Program, and marketing leadership roles at Uganda Post Limited and Unilever. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Makerere University and a Masters in Public Health Leadership from Uganda Christian University.
