Alvaro Garcia is a seasoned expert in neurobiology and gene therapy with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as Associate Director and Head of In Vivo at Manifold Bio since September 2021, Alvaro previously held senior scientist positions at Simcere Innovation and Yesse Technologies, where responsibilities included advancing gene therapy drug discovery and leading experimental designs for animal research. Alvaro’s academic tenure at Columbia University included roles as Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurobiology in Psychiatry and Postdoctoral Research Scientist, focusing on neural transmission mechanisms and mental disorders, resulting in multiple publications and presentations. Alvaro earned a PhD in Neuropsychopharmacology and a Licenciatura in Pharmacy from the University of Navarra, contributing significantly to research on chronic stress and its biological mediators.
