Jen Zhao has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jen started their career at the World Resources Institute as a Research Analyst, focusing on sustainable finance from 2011 to 2014. Jen then joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banking Summer Associate in 2015, specializing in power and renewables. In 2016, they became an Investment Banking Associate in the same field at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where they worked until 2017. In 2017, they joined Marathon Capital and has since held various positions including Investment Banking Associate, Vice President, Chief of Staff, and currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer.

Jen Zhao pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Studies from Peking University, which they obtained between the years 2005 and 2009. Following this, they attended The George Washington University from 2009 to 2011, where they earned their Master of Arts degree in International Affairs and Development. Finally, from 2014 to 2016, Jen Zhao went to The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Accounting, Finance, and Economics.
