Karl Van Deusen has over 35 years of work experience, beginning with their entry into the US Navy in 1985. Throughout their Navy career, they held various roles, including Gunnery Officer, Flag Lieutenant, Chief Engineer, Flag Aide, Executive Officer, and Commanding Officer of different vessels and units. Karl also served as an Action Officer, Congressional Liaison Officer, Fleet Operations Officer, and Director at the J-3, The Joint Staff. In 2005, they were a Congressional Fellow, serving in the Chairman C.W. Bill Young and House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee. In 2012, they moved into the private sector, becoming a Senior Vice President at Cavarocchi-Ruscio-Dennis, LLC. In 2019, they became President of Broadwater International, Inc. Karl Van Deusen currently serves as Senior Vice President of Federal Business Development and Government Relations at Maritime Tactical Systems (MARTAC), Inc.
Karl Van Deusen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Marquette University in 1985. Karl then pursued a Master of Arts degree in National Security Affairs, International Organizations, and Negotiations at Naval Postgraduate School from 1988 to 1990. Later, they attended U.S. Naval War College and obtained a Master of Arts degree in National Security Affairs and Strategic Studies from 1996 to 1998.
