Christopher Townsend

Christopher Townsend, CPCU, currently serves as Treasurer for the Richmond CPCU Society Chapter and has been a Senior Underwriter at Markel since March 2022, focusing on the Western United States and the Sports & Entertainment sector. Prior to Markel, Christopher held a similar position at James River Insurance Company from February 2017 to March 2022. Christopher's career began at Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd., where various roles included Underwriter for Colony Specialty and Underwriting Trainee in the SAIL Program. Additionally, Christopher interned at Liberty Mutual Insurance in the summer of 2012. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, specializing in Insurance and Risk Management, Christopher also completed training at the NAPSLO E&S School.
