Thomas Patras

Thomas Patras is a Mechanical Engineer II at Marotta Controls, with previous experience as a Research and Technology Engineer at Safran and a Lean Manufacturing Intern at Wabtec Corporation. In the role at Wabtec Corporation, Thomas developed a bolster support part using CAD software, which resulted in significant cost savings and created a 3D model of a manufacturing plant for lean simulations. Thomas also implemented lean six sigma methods to enhance productivity on the assembly line and contributed to the development of a visual management plan. Earlier experience as a Research Assistant at Stevens Institute of Technology involved localizing drone coordinates using C++ and OpenCV, showcasing proficiency in ROS within a limited timeframe. Thomas holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and graduated from Staten Island Technical High School.
