Jose Villarrubia

Jose Villarrubia is a seasoned digital colorist with extensive experience in the comic book industry, contributing to major publishers such as Marvel Entertainment, Inc. and DC Comics since the late 1990s, and earning an Eisner Award nomination for the series "Fantastic Four 1234." In addition to a successful career in colorist roles, Jose serves as the Chair of the Illustration Department at MICA and has been a professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art since 1997, teaching a range of courses in illustration and fine arts. Academically, Jose holds an MFA in Painting from Towson University and a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, as well as having studied at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
