Vice Provost For Graduate Studies at Maryland Institute College of Art

Stacey Salazar serves as the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art since January 2020, leading the graduate division encompassing diverse degree programs in fine art, media, design, art education, and community engagement. With a robust background in higher education, Stacey has contributed as a Co Editor for the Journal of Art, Design and Communication in Higher Education and worked as an Education Consultant for various non-profit organizations from 2012 to 2022, focusing on faculty development. Prior roles at the Maryland Institute College of Art include Interim Associate Dean for Curriculum & Assessment, Graduate Studies, and Professor, where Stacey taught over 80 art education courses and directed a low-residency and online MA program in Art Education. Additional experience includes serving as an Arts Integration Specialist and instructional leader within K-12 educational settings and teaching studio art courses across multiple institutions. Stacey holds a Doctorate of Education in Art & Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and several advanced degrees in art and education.
