Sean Calnan

SVP, Community Investment at MassDevelopment

Sean joined MassDevelopment in 1998 and serves as the Senior Vice President, Community Investment in the Community Development Division. Sean manages the Community Investment team in its commitment to stimulate business, drive economic growth, and help neighborhoods and communities thrive through tactical interventions including, but not limited to, the administration of several grant programs such as the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund, the Collaborative Workspace Program, the Community Health Center Grant Program, the Cultural Facilities Fund, the Innovation Voucher Fund Program, and the Taxi & Livery Business Support Program. Prior to joining MassDevelopment, Sean worked at the Massachusetts Office of Business Development as Assistant Legal Counsel and Director of Economic Assistance where he oversaw the Economic Development Incentive Program which provides local property tax incentives and state tax credits to encourage business expansion. Prior to assuming his current role, Sean served as Vice President, Community Development as part of MassDevelopment's West Regional Team. Sean holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
