Mallory Baxter is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and strategic management within the fields of education, economics, and international development. Currently serving as the Head of Strategic Research at Mastercard Foundation since January 2018, Mallory has held various roles including Lead and Partner in Strategic Research, as well as Learning Manager for the Scholars Program. Previous positions include Research Manager and Senior Research Associate at Laterite, and consultant roles at The World Bank and Mercado Global. Mallory's early career involved significant contributions as an Economic Specialist and Economist with the Ontario Ministry of Finance. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in International Development from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Guelph, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from Mount Allison University.

It was created in 2006 by Mastercard International and operates independently under the governance of its own Board of Directors. The Foundation is based in Toronto, Canada.
