Kevin Zimmer has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Kevin started their career as a Language Arts Teacher at Fonville Middle School with Teach for America in 2002 and subsequently worked as a Language Arts Teacher at Nims Middle School with Leon County Schools from 2004 to 2005. In 2005, they joined TNTP and held several roles including Operations and Communications Associate, Recruitment and Selection Manager for Philadelphia Teaching Fellows, and Senior Site Advisor for Program Administration & Technology. Kevin then served as Chief of Staff and Project Director for New Teacher Effectiveness before becoming a Partner in Program Support. In 2017, Kevin joined Mastery Charter Schools as Director of Strategic Initiatives and later became the Senior Director of Academic Operations.
Kevin Zimmer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Brown University in 2002. Kevin then pursued a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania, which they completed in 2012.

Mastery is nationally recognized for its ability to turn around failing neighborhood schools and to drive dramatic student achievement gains. In our turnaround schools, test scores have increased, on average, more than 40 percentage points per grade and subject after three years, violence decreased by 80% and student turnover dropped by one-third.
