Dawnavan S. Davis, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and leadership roles. Starting in 2008, they worked as the Director of Community-Based Research and Assistant Professor of Medicine at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where they provided strategic direction and leadership in research program portfolio growth. Dawnavan then moved on to become the Director of Health Promotions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City from 2011 to 2015, where they led the development of a new department and spearheaded the creation of a high-performing team. In 2015, they joined MedStar Health as the Assistant Vice President of Community Health, where they provided transformational leadership for a 10-hospital health system and led strategic planning and change management processes. From 2019 to 2020, they served as the Chief Diversity Officer at the American Psychological Association, where they provided visionary leadership and developed comprehensive equity, diversity, and inclusion infrastructure and strategies. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President and Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer at Mathematica, where they continue to drive equity and inclusion efforts.
Dawnavan S. Davis, PhD holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medical Psychology from the Uniformed Services University. Dawnavan also obtained a Master's degree in Community Health Education from Towson University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Additionally, they completed a Kellogg Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
