Darren Ashby

Darren Ashby currently serves as the VP of Hardware R&D at Matterport since April 2022, focusing on innovations that capture the real world for the metaverse. Prior to this role, Darren held prominent positions at ICON Health and Fitness from September 1999 to April 2022, including VP of Advanced Development and Director of Electrical Engineering, where responsibilities included leading innovative electronics research and design. Additionally, Darren authored the best-selling book "Electrical Engineering 101" between 2005 and 2011 while also serving as a staff instructor for a Basic Microprocessors course at Utah State University in 2002-2003. Darren earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Technology from Utah State University from 1990 to 1995.
