Avinash Mani is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering and product development within leading organizations. Currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at MatX, Avinash focuses on creating silicon and systems to optimize performance and cost for GenAI and AGI applications. Previously, Avinash held the position of Director of Engineering Devices and Software at Amazon, where responsibilities included developing edge-ML hardware products and enhancing devices with advanced machine learning capabilities. As a founding member and VP of Engineering at Innovium Inc., Avinash played a crucial role in establishing the engineering team and developing high-capacity data center switch routers. Prior experience includes senior leadership roles at Broadcom Inc., contributing to the design of significant networking products, and various engineering positions at Axiom Design Automation, Synopsys, and Riverstone Networks. Avinash holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Southern California and a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Our mission is to be the compute platform for AGI. By building more powerful hardware, we will make AI better, faster, and cheaper. We recognize that LLMs are different, and so we target just LLMs, whereas GPUs target all ML models. This allows our hardware and software to be much simpler. Our approach combines our deep domain experience, a few key ideas, and a lot of careful engineering.
