Gordon Ringold

Dr. Gordon Ringold serves as the Executive Chairman at Maverix Biomics and was a founding independent board member for the company. Dr. Ringold is also Executive Chairman of Alavita Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a co-founder, and director of Maxygen and Alexza Pharmaceuticals, and a director of 3V Biosciences. He has served as chairman and CEO of SurroMed, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on novel biomarker discovery, and CEO of Glaxo-Wellcome Group’s Affymax Research Institute, where he managed the development of novel technologies to accelerate the pace of drug discovery. Previously a professor of pharmacology at Stanford University, he is currently director of Silicon Valley Initiatives at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
