Russell has worked in various roles, including as an Integration Verification Lead at MBDA, where they were responsible for reviewing system requirements and creating verification plans for the SPEAR3 missile and launcher. Russell also worked as an Electrical System Engineer at Lilium, where they used Agile work practices to plan and track progress for the Lilium electric aircraft. Russell Cross obtained an MSC degree in Material Science/Engineering with a minor in Electronics from The University of Waikato, where they studied from 1993 to 1999. Russell also obtained a Level 3 Award in the requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: June 2008(2015) from City and Guilds in 2015.
