Karmen

Karmen Ma has extensive work experience in the finance industry, with a focus on real estate. Karmen currently holds the position of Senior Director, Originations in the Development Finance Group at MCAP since February 2020. Prior to that, they worked at CIBC for a total of ten years, starting in 2010. At CIBC, they held various positions including Director, Senior Manager, Manager, and Associate in the Real Estate Finance Division, as well as Manager in the Real Estate Credit Risk Management. Karmen also worked briefly as a Commercial Underwriter at Community Trust Company in 2010 and as an Account Manager in Real Estate Lending at Canadian Western Bank from 2007 to 2010. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as an Educator at lululemon athletica from 2002 to 2007 and as a Property Information Collector at BC Assessment from 2005 to 2006.

Karmen Ma has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Real Estate and International Business from The University of British Columbia. Karmen also attended The University of Hong Kong, but their degree and field of study are unspecified.
