H. Deep Saini

H. Deep Saini currently serves as the President & Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Plant Science at McGill University since April 2023. Prior to this role, Saini held similar positions at Dalhousie University and the University of Canberra. Saini's extensive academic career includes serving as Vice-President at the University of Toronto and Dean at the University of Waterloo, focusing on environment and resource studies. With a strong foundation in plant biology established through a Ph.D. from the University of Adelaide and earlier degrees from Punjab Agricultural University, Saini has significant research experience in physiological and molecular biology related to crop production and environmental stress.
