Ambuj Gupta

Ambuj Gupta is an experienced management consultant currently serving as an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company since August 2012, specializing in financial institutions. Previously, Gupta held the position of Director for M&A Origination at Barclays Bank from August 2004 to September 2010, overseeing M&A origination and leveraged finance for mid-market private equity transactions. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Associate at A T Kearney and Booz & Company, as well as a brief tenure as COO of FinNet, India’s first credit information bureau. Gupta began a career in finance with Robert Fleming & Co., focusing on corporate finance and equity derivatives, and initially worked as a Drilling Engineer at Schlumberger. Gupta holds two MBA degrees from the Alliance Manchester Business School and International University of Japan, and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
