Tamay Besiroglu

Tamay Besiroglu is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in technology and research. As a co-founder of Mechanize Inc. since April 2025 and an Associate Director at Epoch AI since July 2022, Tamay has demonstrated expertise in both entrepreneurial and leadership roles. Previous experience includes serving as a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from November 2021 to October 2023, and as the Strategy & Operations Lead at Metaculus from July 2018 to June 2021. Early career development involved a research internship at the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University in 2017 and an internship at Bloomberg LP in 2016. Tamay holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Cambridge, completed in 2020, and an International Baccalaureate from Rotterdam International Secondary School, received in 2014.
