MedAware
MedAware was founded in 2012 following a tragic event when a 9-year-old boy died simply because his primary care physician accidentally selected the wrong drug on his electronic prescribing pull-down list. This mistake was not due to bad judgment on the side of the physician, but rather, simple human error. With the understanding that legacy decision support solutions failed to save this boy, a seasoned team of physician-scientists and machine learning algorithm experts established MedAware to ensure the highest level of safety for providers and their patients. Today, MedAware is at the forefront of patient safety with its AI-based medication safety monitoring platform. By integrating with existing technology systems, EHRs, and devices, MedAware identifies dangerous medication-related risks throughout the entire patient journey. Leveraging longitudinal and real-time patient data, advanced machine learning algorithms flag potential medication errors, opioid dependency risk, evolving adverse drug events, and more.
