Joel N. Bryan

Joel N. Bryan is vice president, treasurer, and chief investment officer for MedStar Health. In this capacity, Bryan manages the treasury and corporate tax functions. He is responsible for leading the company's financing activities, including structuring and negotiating credit transactions, and managing relationships with investors, rating agencies and commercial lenders. Bryan also manages MedStar's corporate and pension investment portfolios, as well as all daily cash activities for the organization.

Prior to joining MedStar Health, Bryan was director of corporate finance for Global Telesystems, Inc., a $1 billion European telecommunications company. In that capacity, he structured and negotiated various credit transactions, worked on developing the company's private equity investment strategy, and managed banking relationships. Bryan previously held a high-level treasury position for USEC, Inc., an energy services corporation, where he played a lead role in the company's successful $1.4 billion initial public stock offering and implemented the company's initial capital structure.

Bryan holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Virginia and earned his master's in business administration from The George Washington University. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
