POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading and supporting the continual improvement and enhancement of the Salesforce platform for MegaCorp Logistics; taking ownership of all programmatic requests and working alongside the Senior Salesforce Administrator to collaborate on the development of solutions to meet business needs and align with best practices. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with the Senior Salesforce Administrator to validate business requirements and any considerations (security, scalability, limits).
  • Gathers requirements and feedback including support tickets, training, and designing solutions with user satisfaction a priority.
  • Plans, leads, and implements the development of Apex classes and triggers to extend Salesforce in order to support business requirements.
  • Develops custom interfaces, including Lightning Pages and Lightning Web Components, and modifies or extends any existing Lightning Pages or Lightning Web Components as necessary.
  • Leverages Salesforce APIs and/or Marketplace Applications to integrate with internal and third-party systems used throughout the organization.
  • Identifies unused or underutilized platform features and advocates their incorporation into the Salesforce platform strategy and development strategy.
  • Creates a Salesforce development roadmap and strategy, defining priorities with stakeholders.
  • Adheres to Salesforce best practices, maintains code documentation, and writes/maintains test classes covering all custom development.
  • Partners with development and integration teams to support and provide oversight in designing and developing integration solutions and prototypes with impact to Salesforce.
  • Collaborates, coordinates, and assists development and integration teams with planning and executing deployments that include modifications to Salesforce logic, configurations, or data architecture.
  • Communicates any platform changes to end users and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the technical documentation of the Salesforce Platform.
  • Manages integrated applications and third-party suppliers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience implementing and developing in Apex, LP, LWC, and Java.
  • Experience with system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps).
  • Understanding of business goals, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes and their importance in Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of various frontend web development languages like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of ERP platforms like Oracle NetSuite.
  • A proactive approach to Salesforce enhancements and bringing existing code into alignment with best practices.
  • Ability to write, interpret, and critique technical specifications.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to troubleshoot and fix issues across functional teams.
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines and influence and effect change to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business problems and propose solutions.
  • Ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources, management concepts, and analytical approaches/options in terms used by executive, business, and IT stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists.
  • Ability to learn quickly, analyze situations and make decisions which support the ongoing success of MegaCorp.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or relevant experience)
  • Certified Salesforce Developer.
  • Additional Salesforce certification (e.g. Administrator, Platform App Builder).
  • At least three years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental data management and analytics initiatives.
  • At least five years of Salesforce product knowledge including development experience.
  • Background in supply chain, transportation and logistics preferred.
